The accuracy of eyewitness memory can be faulty in terms of the specific details of the event, however it is highly unlikely that the event itself is reported incorrectly. Eyewitness testimony can reveal several aspects of a crime with an acceptable degree of accuracy, and this cannot be ignored just because minute details cannot be recalled with precision.
