Gender differences can be observed in terms of how conflict is approached and subsequently managed. Overall, males tend to be more aggressive, demanding and competitive while females adopt a more cooperative approach that focusses on reaching a consensus. Male conflict styles are characterised by the need to achieve power whereas females focus on relational aspects. From my personal experiences, I have also noted that men are able to recover from conflicts relatively quickly from conflicts. However, females tend to ruminate about the consequences of the conflict and allow it to impact their relationship with others
