There are many metaphors used in the book. Some of them are- The Scar on Harry's forehead, The Mirror of Erised, The Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone, Platform Nine-and-Three-Quarters etc.

  • The Scar on Harry's forehead- The scar is the represent our power. The power, which is in everyone, but is unable to recognize it. This can be good or bad. Everyone wishes that s/he might not have any scares, but these scars can prove redemptive.
  • The Mirror of Erised- The mirror represents the reality which may be very different from our perception. The reflections of the perception may not be trustworthy, instead they can lead our lives completely backward. It represents that human perception is not perfect and complete. We should not let it master on us instead we should master on them.
