Fair use is brief quotations that can be used in one text to elucidate a given point from another text, without having the need to go purchase the entire copyright of the given product from which the brief quotation is being borrowed.
Fair use is hard to determine as copyright is in place to determine fair play and effective use of ideology, to prevent intellectual theft, but sometimes due to its rather overlapping qualities.
Copyright law and freedom of expression branch from the same need for giving impetus to ideological thought, but copyright aims to protect ideological theft. Freedom of expression can knowingly or unknowingly infringe upon the boundaries of ideological theft. Fair use aims to protect that. For example thst book reviews we see on one of the kat common sites which is good reads.
