Racial Liberalism led to the civil rights movement. In the 1940's the Blacks were discriminated on the basis of race and color. The African Americans had to face hardships during the time. They did not only serve as slaves based on their racial background, but were not even treated as citizens of the country. The basic belief of racial liberalism was to appeal to the legislature to take the matter in their own hands against racial discrimination. It appealed for equal rights and freedom.
