Hasel and Gretel is a popular fairy tale, which is a part of Brothers Grimm collection. This story talks about Brother and Sister who escapes from being eaten by a witch who have a poor eyesight. Father of these children who is under the condition of scarcity of food decides to leave these children deep inside the woods so that they could cut off the food for 2 people and leading to manage the scarcity . Father plans it with the children step mother who is the one to come up with this idea ,was overheard by these children and at first time they could escape from the deep woods with the help of white stones to find the way to home but next time since they couldn't able to use the white stone they use bread crumbs but was eaten by the bird finally lost in woods. after they got lost in woods they got to find a witch who is intended to eat them. Since they were so lean witch try to feed them and then prepare to eat them but at last these children escapes from the witch by pushing thw witch into the oven . Finally they find the way to escape from the woods at the time they reach their house their step mother dies and they live happily with their father.

The character development of these children are that they learn to cope up with their struggling life and they could able to find way to their house which was a hardest task at that age by being competitive. They face fear which will be faced by every children in their life such as fear of being left alone by their loved-ones, father marries another women to replce the place of their mother by step mother which is also one of the fear of children in their life. Then whenthey become the slave of witch Gretel who try to push the witch into the oven to safe guard themselves, shows that even girls have power to act and save their life which means girls also able to cut down their fear. They on the whole the children faces anxiety, fear , hunger, poverty etc., but they could conquer all of it as they slowly grow.
