Explanation: Binet and colleague Theodore Simon developed a series of tests designed to assess mental abilities. They did not focussed on learned information such as math and reading, instead concentrated on other mental abilities such as attention and memory. The scale they developed is called as the Binet-Simon Intelligence Scale. These tests discriminated between younger and older normal children. Test twenty-seven, assessing comprehension was useful for differentiating between the slightly retarded and the normal. As Binet and Simon states, "any mind which is not apt in abstraction succumbs in this test".
