Suicide can be defined as thetact of killing one self. It is generally a consequence of severe depression or other mental illness. There are several gender differences when it comes to suicide.

Review of suicide statistics shows that women are roughly three times more likely to attempt suicide, though men are around three times more likely to die from suicide. This is the major difference between the efforts of men and women to end their lives.

Impulsivity is an important factor when it comes to suicide attempt or dying from suicide.This Impulsivity is found more in younger age groups of 18-28 age group while dying from suicide is seen in older age groups without or fewer warnings.

Minorities such as asians and African Americans were most likely to commit suicide as well as people who are unmarried.
