Describe how BMI is used in defining obesity versus being overweight.
The Body Mass Index is calculated to measure the body fat of an individual based on height and weight. BMI is calculated by dividing one's weight in kilograms with their height in meters square. For instance, you weigh 68 kilograms and your height is 1.55 in inches, divide 68 by 1.55 and the result again by 1.55. This would give you a number as a result of Body Mass Index. If the results fall between 25.0 and 30.0, then you are overweight and if your BMI is over 30.0 then you are obese. This is how BMI is used in defining obesity versus being overweight.
