Yes, I do think that SNSs pose more risks to personal safety than traditional FTF relationships. In SNS communication and network lot of private information is given out which is accessible by anyone. Also you never know who your audience is. Face to face communications are more private and does not pose threats from known or unknown members.

In SNS communication a third party can get involved depending on the privacy settings chosen. Other than that it does not add a secure form of communication.
