In general, do you agree with how Dante orders/organizes the sins in the Inferno? (The farther one travels into the Inferno the more heinous the sin--e.g., the sins committed by those in Circle 2 aren't as severe as those committed by those in, let's say Circle 3, according to Dante. To Dante, lust is a less serious sin, than gluttony, etc.) If so, explain why. If not, how would you rank the sins? Why order them at all?
Your post should be at least 100 words.
I think Dante was right in considering lust less severe than gluttony because lust is one of the basic feeling which will help people procreate. Lust at certain level is required for human beings to survive but when it goes beyond the limit, it’s dangerous. But gluttony is always bad for a person because a glutton will never work, never contribute to the development of self, family and the society. Because a glutton won’t work, glutton’s mind will be occupied with lots of other sins such as lust and sloth. I might change the circle slightly and ordering them is important because one begets the other.
