Part 1: Open communication is amust

do not neglect your child it needs you

Set discipline and make sure it's importance is known

have clear rules in house

be supportive of the child

do not be extremely nagging and brutal if a rule is violated basically understand what your child wants to say and the reason behind it

Part 2: More of authoritarian style where there were set rules and expectations but there was free flow of communication and ample of faith and support.
