Positive thinking can influence the length of people’s lives as it reduces stress in our lives which leads to normal sleep pattern and enhanced immunity leading to improved quality of life and increased the length of life. Further, since stress can lead to the triggering of gene expression leading to various diseases we should control our stress level in life. For example, stress may have a harmful effect of the p53 which is an important tumor suppressor gene. People can be taught to be positive through psychological counseling.
