Women are stereotyped as being bad drivers. Where did this stereotype come from and why does it persist? For each possible reason, use a research study to explain the reason.
Stereotype- The word stereotype often used as a personality or type of person or behaviour which represent to entire group.
As we know, people get knowledge by experiences, these can be self or experience of others, some experiences occur in the same way many times so our mind co-relate it with a particular phenomenon, this is the beginning of any stereotype.
The collective experiences influence the phenomenon more rather than individual.
Example- when we talk about women driver, here is a stereotype that “women cannot be good driver” come from an experience where we get more dent on cars which drive by women rather than men so we built this idea in a long period of time about women driving while by the number of accident occurred by men not women.
The difference between rumours and stereotype is very less, rumours last for short period of time while stereotypes stays for a long time.
