Luck 1 – When the Khemer rogue vacate the city in the pretext of the American bombing, the family escaped to Loung’s maternal uncle’s house. Pa has to lie to the soldiers that he didn’t work for the government.

Luck 2 – Loung was able to get the soldier’s training because had she remained in the camp she would have died of starvation just like her sister.

Luck 3 – When the Vietnamese attacked the camps where Loung was staying Loung was able to escape and eventually reunite with her brother and sister.

Luck 4 – When she stayed in a temporary camp, khemer rogue attacked the camps thus fled for life and got separated from her siblings again but survives the attack.

Luck 5 – She was reunited with her siblings at the end of the movie and they all live as a family at the end thus surviving all the attacks and threats that came along their way.
