She loses her children and husband due to some unfortunate events. Her elder son Jimmy dies in the war. The older couple refuses to take his body. In this story, Ayah shares a great bond with her mother and grand mother. " Lullaby" has been recognized as one of the best American Short Stories of the year, 1975.
