Four theories that can be used when working with LGBT population are,

Biological theory- Genetics are responsible for the personality.

Behavioural theories- Personality is a result of interaction between individual and environment. They work on observable behaviours and disregard thoughts and feelings.

Psychodynamic theory-Unconscious mind and childhood experiences influence the personality.

Humanistic theory- Emphasize the importance of individual experience and free will. It focuses on the concept of self-actualization, which is the innate need for personal growth that motivates behaviour.

LGBT population undergo a lot of trauma because of the differences done by the society.The above four theories tends to explain the behavioural problems in their own way.
