There is a concept called Genome wide Approach Study (GWAS) that is used in gauging and apprehending which genes and genomes are responsible for intelligent component in an individual. So far, there are a lot of researches that are taking place in order to identify genes responsible for the existence of factors related to intelligence such as critical thinking, problem solving, but there are quite a few genes found to be associated with this phenomenon.

Although, there has been a strong correlation between environment and intelligence.
