1. It is a normative approach that works on the norms given in a particular organisation.

2. It is an applied science that makes use of the concepts found and studied under industrial psychology/ organisational psychology.

3. It is an interdisciplinary approach that combines concepts from psychology, sociology, buisness studies, economics, social psychology etc.

4. It is a field of study that derives its concepts primarily from management and human resources that study individual's in work context.

5. It is an optimistic approach that considers human as growth oriented beings rather than money oriented people who work like machines. As given by humanists like maslow & rogers.

6. It studies all these concepts as a sole purpose to increase organisational effectiveness and employee productivity.
