This helps in dispositional purposes for determining if the sentence is appropriate or if the conditions under which the offended us kept is under proper supervision by the community. The purpose of assessment tools are:

  • It is used for ascertaining if there are appropriate periods of confinement.
  • If there would be needs for treatment or modalities or settings.
  • To test for the civil commitment proceedings and argue if there is an indefinite confinement or if there is an unstructured judgment.
