The strengths of using an ontological and a specific epistemological approach. There is construction of cooperative knowledge along with cognitive interaction which helps in qualitative research. When epistemology is used, it helps in raising questions so as to look into the ways through which reality could be known. It also helps in finding out a relationship between what has been known and the how much is known by the researcher. Also, characteristics of the assumptions that may be present in the process of research would be identified along with the underlying assumptions. Also, the epistemological approach will identify if the process could be repeated and the findings are reliable.
