Answer #1

Louis Leon Thurstone (L.L. Thurstone), in his theory of Primary Mental Abilities, stated Verbal Comprehension as a type of intelligence, and that too, as distinct from 6 other types of intelligence, namely- Numerical Abilities, Spatial Relations/Visualization, Perceptual Speed, Word Fluency, Associative Memory and Reasoning.

Verbal Comprehension refers to the ability to grasp meanings of words and understand concepts and ideas.

Thurstone in his theory stated that each of these abilities were independent of each other.
