Emerging adulthood is a period characterised by positive and negative features. During this stage, emerging adults are optimistic and believe they have good chances of a standard of living. This is a period of self-focus where young people try to make decisions with respect to their life choices before they get limited by the constraints of marriage, children and a career. However, this is an age of instability marked by frequent residence and even workplace changes. There is also a feeling of being stuck in between where young adults take responsibility for themselves, but still do not completely feel like an adult.
