How did the Revolution transform religion in the new nation? Consider especially issues related to religious toleration, religious liberty, and church-state relations.
Religion played a major role in the life of the European Americans before the revolution because it was the Church of England and they were loyal to the king or Queen in England. Although, few clergies also joined the revolution supporting the new nation and freedom struggle, Americans started to look at the clergies as the allies of England. European Americans were very religious until the revolution and after the revolution, American constitution famously announced that the State will never support any religious establishments but the freedom of worship will be guaranteed not just for Christians but also for people of other religions. This proclamation made sure that church has only ritualistic role in the state and the state will determine what people will do with its laws.
