The interpretation of the perceptual system does not coincide with what is actually being shown. When perceptual interactions occur, events are stored in the long term memory. As information would be received, it would be stored in the sensory memory for a short time, and these are transferred to the long term memory division after being encoded. When memories are encoded, there is a certain form of association with the memory that is being received. The recalling of these memories have added perception of the person who is in a place, and this leads to changes in the representation of the actual form. As a result, even though we might think that the memory we are recollecting is exactly the same of what had happened, there are certain distortions in the presentation of the memory. This is because we perceive only one part of the situation.

Since, our memory is influenced by our perception, we never recall the exact same situation,
