Answer #1

According to Piaget's concept-

  • Assimilation is the process in which the child takes new information into his/her already existing schema.
  • Accommodation is little different from the assimilation, in this process the child change or replace his/her knowledge from existing information.
  • Both processes involve the information processing and understanding the new concepts.
  • Example of Assimilation- Watching a cat and labeling it by its name through knowing the characteristics of the cat.
  • Example of Accommodation- Differentiating between horse and donkey.
