Explain what the purpose of an institutional review board (IRB) is.
Every experiment conducted for research purposes usually has human subjects participating. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) protects the rights and welfare of human subjects in a research design. The IBR makes sure that there is no possible harm caused to the subject in the process of research analysis. IRB makes sure that the participants volunteer to be a part of the research study after knowing its purpose. IRB assures the safety of human subjects and give participants the liberty to drop out anytime they feel unsafe or a possible harm. IRB also reassures that the information obtained during the study would be kept confidential.
