Describe some of the things you learned through the “hidden” curriculum during your elementary and secondary school years (example girls taking certain courses while boys the others)

Hidden curriculum is an informal and an unintentional lesson taught in school. It is contrary to the formal curriculum. Neither does anybody talk about it nor is it taught. For instance, I learnt the 'right' way of acting in school and get popular among teachers and other kids. I learnt to be disciplined and also very attentive in class which made the teachers like me. I wasn't told by anybody to act in this way. However, since it got me attention, I was motivated to be more disciplined. The other thing that I learnt through hidden curriculum is, what was expected from me in school. I learnt that at the end of the day it was the year end test scores which was the deal breaker. There are different things that different individuals learn through hidden curriculum. The above are a few that I learnt.
