Motive is the drive force for any crime,but individuals are not punished for merely carrying the motive of crime.

Intent of crime is the deliberate effort to break the law and cause hurt to someone for the individual could be punished or penalized, if proven guilty or the degree of harm is severe

Example- Revenge for a personal insult could be a motive for crime. Hitting other individual with a baseball bat deliberately to harm, to take on the revenge for the personal insult, is the intent of the crime.
