During early school of psychology, psychologist were not considering the scientific methods to evaaluate their studies. Ebbinghaus was the one of them who consider the scientific methods to support his work. he used experimental study to study the memory. he discovered the forgetting curve and spacing effect. he was the first person who discribed the learning curve.

He went againt to the thought of that time, and he showed that higher mental processes could be study by the experimental method. he used the non- sense syllables (CVC trigram) to study the memory.

Yet there was several limitation in his study but he gave major contribution to make the psychology as scientific study,
