Answer #1

A) B. Daniel will be a quadriplegic, meaning he will lose the use of arms and legs.

Quadriplegia is a spinal cord injury that happens above the first thoracic vertebra, or within C1 to C8 cervical sections. This results in paralysis in all the legs and arms to some extent or degree. But the extent/degree of paralysis varies depending upon factors like - the nature of the injury, rehabilitation, surgery and other factors. Quadriplegia is also referred to as s tetraplegia.

Our spinal cord is in charge of transferring signals to and from the brain (kind of like a telephone line), and the brain is in charge of processing and interpreting these signals (think of it like your phone receiver). Usually a spinal cord injury prevents the brain from sending or receiving these signals, while a brain injury impedes the brain's ability to process and interpret them. A quadriplegic will find following symptoms – Inability to move, Chronic pain, loss of sensation blow site of injury, low bodily awareness, bowel and urinal inconsistencies, loss of muscle tone and mass, weight problems, etc.
