show by way of example your understanding of classical conditioning

Answer #1

In the classical conditioning a potent biological stuimulus is paired with a neutral stimulus.

For example : My boyfriend had this very masculine after shave cream that gave out a fragrance which made me blush. Now whenever he comes near me , I can smell the fragrance and that makes me blush. So now that fragrance is associated with my blushing.

Now if that fragrance comes from somewhere else (and not my boyfriend) , even then that makes me blush because my brain associates that fragrance with my boyfriend. So this is an example of classical conditioning.

The answer should include a discussion of the unconditioned stimulus and response for classical conditioning or include a discussion stimulus and response for classical conditioning or positive/negative reinforcement/punishment for operant conditioning.
