If you traveled to another country, what elements would most likely cause you to experience culture shock?
Experiencing culture shock in another country is especially more likely when a person is not prepared for it. The more unprepared you go, the harder it hits you. However, every country, state and region has a different culture. No matter how prepared you are, you can still experience culture shock. As a traveler, different elements of Asian countries have caused me to experience culture shock. Greeting someone with a big smile while walking down the road is not very common in most Asian countries. Everybody is engrossed in their own business and hardly ever smile and greet. Language is another culture shock. As a person I underestimated the barrier language creates. Different cultures have different norms. What may be acceptable to me is not acceptable by a certain culture. Attire and style of dressing majorly ends up being a culture shock in most parts of the world.
