Answer #1

Self determination is a macro theory. It is related with motivation. It basically deals with a person's desire to grow professionally and personally. It is based on natural desire and inspirations.

It is not affected by external factors. There are two types of such determination. One is intrinsic and other is extrinsic. People control their lives in their own ways.

There are three variables present for self determination. These variables are autonomy, competency and relatedness. Competency means how a person deals with surroundings in effective manner. Autonomy means self governing nature.

Person holds the control of his/her life without any pressure. Relatedness means a person maintain close relationship with others. This is done to reduce frictions and to increase chances of success with ease.

These three factors are related to each other. Good relations help in healthy competition. Person gets lesser resistance and can live according to his own terms and conditions. His/her efficiency is being increased which causes better harmony, lesser competition and better control. Hence all variables are connected with each other.
