what kind of conditions did the soldiers experience during WW1
Soldiers who fought during the World War I went through some really hard time and living conditions. Soldiers fought wars in a trench. Trench was basically ditches dug deep, which were long but very narrow. These were built in a way so that they could hide from there enemy, however, they also lived in it. It was not only dirty but was infested with rats and rodents which caused diseases. Dead bodies would be lying around nearby and the septic tank from toilets would swell leading to overflow which would enter the trench. The soldiers would not even sleep much because they had to be on duty, all around the clock. They could only sleep in the day light for a few hours and the entire night they would spend patrolling. These were the conditions which the soldiers experienced during World War I.
