Immobility due to various factors indeed impacts physiological aging. For instance, an Individual meets with an accident where he cannot move or get out of bed for six months, is going to look a lot older than he really is. Immobility leads to dependency, frustration and lower self-esteem. An individual tends to feel useless about themselves. The stress garnered in this period contributes to physiological aging. Also, when an individual cannot move, there is no physical activity, absolutely zero movement which makes a person weaker, looks diseased and older, which is another reason why immobility impacts physiological aging.
