is a disease which affects a person's behaviour, memory and
thoughts. Alzheimer disease worsens overtime and can block a
person's ability of conversation with other people. There are some
interventions which have been found beneficial to older people with
Alzheimer's disease and their family care givers. These
interventions are-

in their hobbies and interests would be very beneficial for them.
For reducing the anxiety caused due to Alzheimer, its important to
plan meaningful activities. Their past experiences should be
considered while planning these activities. Singing songs, art and
craft, reading newspaper, solving puzzles, watching family videos
and photographs are some activities which can be created for
Alzheimer's patients.

always needs emotional support. The caregiver needs to give
appropriate emotional support to the patient.
- The role of the family is also very
important. The role of the caregiver and the family of the patient
is always very challenging. In this case, a training regarding how
to manage difficult behaviours, improve communication skills and
keep the person safe would be beneficial for family care
giver.
- A person with Alzheimer needs
complete medical care. So it is mandatory to make healthy positive
relationships with the physician or counsellor. A care giver needs
to cooperate with the health care professionals in order to get
better results.
- Despite of different challenges,
the caregiver should always find out time for sharing joy, intimacy
and social experiences for himself and for the patient as well. It
would be better to manage all legal and financial issues in advance
to spend most of the time together.
