Which one did you find more interesting guthrie's Pavlov theory ? And why?
In my opinion, Guthrie’s theory of contiguous learning is more appealing as it accounts for the rare phenomena of one trial conditioning which was left unaddressed by his predecessors like Watson and Skinner. Moreover, unlike the earlier classical conditioning hypothesis about conditioning of involuntary responses, Guthrie’s theory is able to shed light on the individual’s own motivation and level of awareness and is therefore more appealing in the contemporary individualistic societies where greater value is placed on an individual’s active involvement in learning and performance.
