Power- It is an ability to influence others, It doesn't matter If someone like or dislike to follow it. s/he has to obey this.

Authority- it is related to government legitimacy. it is the legal and formal right to give order and commands.

  • The foundation of criminal justice organization is authority.
  • examples- when a citizen incounters the police after breaking the singnal rule then we hesigate to interact with them because of their authority. but if the citizen encounters any politician after the same crime, he won't be that much hesitate.
