"When individuals, families, and human service workers focus exclusively on problems and incapacities, they neglect acknowledging and cultivating people's inherent and/or potential strengths." This quote expresses how we as a society pathologize someone's shortcomings and begins to define them as per their limitations as if it is who they are. One should understand that the impairment is part of their life. Having a disability means difference and not a tragedy that cannot be overcome. If resources, guidance, and nurturing are provided, a person can overcome any barrier and come up in life.
