do you believe the broaden-and-build and neural integration models complement each other? Why or why not? What do you believe are the most significant effects of these models on adaptation? Why?
In my opinion, the broaden-and-build theory and the neural integration models can be considered complementary to each other. According to the broaden-and-build theory, positive emotions enhance one's awareness and encourage novel, varied, and exploratory thoughts and actions. The neural integration models purport the formation and strengthening of neural pathways in order to develop functional cognitive processes and behaviours. Through a broadened behavioral repertoire, individuals can build skills and resources over time. I believe that the broaden-and-build and neural integration models would have a favourable impact on adaptation. This is because it would allow individuals to experience a whole range of possible events and allow them to develop suitable response patterns to counteract any resulting difficulties.
