According to me, if the entire society starts to comprehend that sexual identity and the concept of sexual orientation prevails along a continuum, then it can alleviate the stereotypes, the tensions, as well as the misnomers that are attached to sexual preferences that range along a given spectrum f sexual orientation.

A person who refuses to believe in this continuum, inadvertently conforms to the sexual dichotomy of either heterosexuality and homosexuality.

This dogmatism is not healthy for the organism that is society and the subjects (individuals) within this construct. The understanding of the concept of continuum would help assuage the given predicament of the entire stigma that is adhered to ones sexuality.
