Answer #1

Visual symbols are the representation of of direct reality which comes in forms of sign and symbols. The visual symbols are different kinds of drawing, sketches, cartoons, comic strips, charts, maps etc. We can find visual symbols not only in western culture but all over the world. For eg, any traffic symbols or symbols given in any public mode of transport are clear enough for visual sayings only. For eg, if there is school nearby, then there is always sybol of students going to school. This is to make driver alert of going slowly to school. The visual symbol of work under construction or danger represents verbal saying. Even in trains or in busses where there is symbol of wheel chair it means that disbaled person should sit there.
