The steps to effectively communicate with someone who is poor communicator nonverbally and avoid argument are:

  • Before starting the conversation it's necessary to build mutual purpose for the communication task that should be followed by mutual respect.
  • Avoid subtle nonverbal messages from one's side that could evoke resentment in the communicator. Also, should avoid being totally indifferent to the communicator.
  • Should listen with empathy to understand what is being conveyed. Maintaining calmness and patience while doing so.
