Do you think there is a question that could be asked that would allow you to know if the answerer is a human being or a computer? If so, what is it and why do you think it would let you know the difference? If not, why not?
If I were to imagine a highly sophisticated artificial intelligence system, I believe it would be nearly impossible to distinguish it from a human being. Such a system would be configured with a wide range of responses to any possible query, and perhaps the variety of responses it would be capable of would be greater than what a human being can provide. Language is a tool by which internal states are communicated, it is not an evidence of consciousness as such. If a computer can be taught what it should say to whom, I would think that it would appear the same as a human being.
