The different ways you can forecast HR demand by using different techniques such as;
(a) Managerial Judgment; in this technique, two approaches are used; 'bottom-up approach' and 'top-down approach'. In the bottom-up approach', the departmental requirement of human resources is sent by the line managers to the top management. Top management ultimately forecasts the human resource requirement for the overall organization. The human resource requirement for the entire organization is forecasted by the top management in the Top-down approach.
(b) Work Study Technique; in this methods, the demand of human
resources is forecasted based on the estimated total production and
contribution of each employee in producing each unit items.
(c) Ratio-trend Analysis; on the basis of the ratio of production
level and number of workers available the demand for human
resources is estimated.
