The stereotype that men and women negotiate differently is true because; generally men and women assume that males are; highly competitive, manipulative, win-lose negotiators who are always wanting to defeat their opponents. While Females are more accommodating, win-win negotiators who preserve with the existing relationships to maximize the joint return achieved by negotiating parties. There are both the advantages and disadvantages of their different negotiation tactics though this may be the norm but there are always exceptions in society and stereotyping and having a fixed opinion has its disadvantages, on the other hand, the positive aspect of this behavior is the fact that since this is the general trend of the society we are able to forecast and predict. The hazards in applying this stereotype when it comes to negotiations; it may offend one of the parties and we may end up in having no negotiation.
