Derek and Sandy have both won Olympic Gold in Track and Field. They met while training, fell in love and after retiring from the sport decided to have a baby. The couple are both healthy, in their early 30’s, and are now proud parents of a healthy girl, they named Abbey. Derek and Sandy believe that Abbey one day will win a Gold Olympic medal in Track and Field as well. They claim that being an elite athlete is in Abbey’s genes.

what would you tell Derek and Sandy about the scientific evidence for their claim?

I would say as a scientific evidence about two things-

-Genes and DNA

-Physical stamina and healthy body structure and good heart beat for run or athelete body structure.

As we all know we get things from our parents in the form of good hair growth, skin colour, human behavior, looks.

We get all these things if all that qualities are there in our parents.

DNA and Genes matter while transferring qualities or diseases.

As abbey has a genes of both of her parents and both of them are athelete and are healthy so it's but obvious she will have some good genetic or hormones to escalate these qualities and have higher chances of getting better athelete like her parents.

2) If she is born healthy it means she is actively fit and this is a sign of her stamina and good body structure.

She can have a greater chances of being an athelete just need some advices from her parents and for sure she could do something in Olympic when she gets young.
