Inside Out focuses on our journey of life with different characters of Riley and her moods/emotions that impacts her perception and decision making. The core emotions are anger, fear, sadness, disgust and joy.
.The five emotions displayed in the movie shows that each emotion is vital for our memory and learning. Emotions helped Riley to form relationships with her parents and peers.
In the first few years of Riley's life, the predominant emotions were joy and sadness, a interchange between being happy when things were pleasant and being sad when things were unpleasant. Fear came later which kept her safe from harm. Disgust helped Riley in making choices and Anger became a reaction towards things which Riley was hurt or provoked. When sadnees takes over, Riley is able to remember the losses she has gone through because of moving to a different city. It becomes difficult for her to let go of the ife she had before moving to Minnesota.
Mindfulness is over important. Our emotions control our judgement and behavior. One of the most memorable time in my life was childhood when everything was easy and rosy. I had a very warm and pleasant childhood and felt that my future would be easy too. But times change and the people that were there in the past are no more there. That is when reality strikes and my emotions were spiking from one end to another. But with mindfulness, I am able to regulate my emotions better and make wiser decisions.
