What is changing in rates of childhood obesity and why?
Childhood obesity is caused by the excess fat accumulated in the body of a child which affects the normal functioning of the child very difficult. This effects are physiological, psychological and social. These children eat lots of readily available packed and processed food, they eat fatty food, they don't exercise or part take in outdoor activities etc. The child if it is obese, will feel inferior because of the body shape, will have low self-esteem because others will mock at it, won’t participate in sports and other activities in the fear of being ridiculed. Physiological illnesses such as breathing trouble, high blood pressure etc. may the results of obesity. Heart diseases attack mostly the obese children. Although it’s considered to be genetic, the environment in which the child grows makes a huge impact.
Unfortunately the child obesity numbers have tripled since 1970 because of the fast food habit, lack of exercise and modern gadget centered life style. It’s very challenging that 1 in 5 children in the USA is suffering from obesity. The problem is that it’s going to make things worse as they grow.
